The Department of Human Rights and Intellectual Property Law and the School of Spanish and Latin American Law, in cooperation with the Gdańsk Bars Association of Attorneys at Law invite to a Seminar on human rights titled "Living with human rights in the context of the rule of law, and access to justice" with Professor Sara Chandler KC Hon. Professor Sara Chandler, KC HonProfessor Sara Chandler, Hon.  KC - solicitor (London South Bank University, Law Society of England & Wales - LSEW).  Chair of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the Law Society of England & Wales; former President of : Westminster & Holborn Law Society and South London Law Society. Former Chair of the Human Rights Committee of the Law Society of England & Wales (LSEW) and the Human Rights Commission of the European Bars Federation (FBE), where she is currently Secretary of the Commission. In 2017 she became the first female President of the European Bars Federation (FBE),  and campaigned for Women in Leadership in the Law.  She was awarded the prestigious Latin-UK Awards (LUKAS) in the field of human rights.

Professor Chandler is Chair of the Colombia Caravana UK Lawyers Group- a registered charity that has been actively involved in protecting and defending human rights in Colombia since 2008.  Since 2016. Prof Chandler was made Honorary Queen’s Counsel for her work in human rights, pro bono and legal education. She is now Honorary King’s Counsel. In addition to her activities in Latin America, she has been involved in the Law Society of England & Wales' training programmes with the legal professionals in Nigeria, Uganda, Zambia and the Eastern Caribbean on access to justice, promoting legal aid programmes and free legal services, among others.
