International on-line training for judges, prosecutors, legal advisers and advocates

On June 17-18, 2021, an international on-line training for judges, prosecutors, legal advisers and advocates will take place, offered as part of the TRIIAL project financed by the European Commission, of which is the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk is the participant, represented by the Faculty employees participating in the project, Assoc. Prof. Tomasz T. Koncewicz (Department of European Law and Comparative Legal Studies), Anna Podolska, PhD (Department of Human Rights and Intellectual Property Law) and Marcin Michalak, PhD (Department of European Law and Comparative Legal Studies). 

International training workshops will be devoted to the issues of judges' responsibility in the context of preserving freedom of expression, as well as their independence and impartiality. The training will be preceded by the conference part of the event, in which eminent representatives of the doctrine of European and international law will present their reflections on the legitimacy of the judiciary in the 21st century and on supranational standards of protection for judicial independence.

Among the lecturers  of the workshop there is a researcher from the Faculty of Law and Administration, Assoc. Prof. Tomasz Koncewicz, who will present a speech on "Understanding Social Legitimacy of the Judicial Power in Times of Constitutional Reckoning".
