The Dean of our Faculty, Wojciech Zalewski, D.Sc., received a letter from the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania, Evelina Dobrovolska. In addition to thanks to Dean for the congratulations on taking up the office, the Minister included kind words about the Polish-Lithuanian relations and the invitation to cooperation. Dr. Tomasz Snarski has become a member of the international Scientific Council of the Italian journal L'Ircocervo
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Tomasz Snarski from the Department of Material Criminal Law and Criminology has become a member of the Scientific Council of the interdisciplinary scientific journal L'Ircocervo. The Scientific Council is composed of scientists from Italy, Argentine, France, Germany, Spain and Poland. L'Ircocervo is the first online magazine in Italy devoted to the issues of the methodology of legal sciences, theory and philosophy of law, general jurisprudence and legal doctrines.
The Council of Legal Sciences Discipline of the University of Gdańsk has awarded Wojciech Wiewiórowski, Ph.D. from the Department of Legal Informatics, a Post-Doctoral Degree in legal sciences.
The application was based on a scientific achievement in the form of authorship of a series of publications entitled "Legal guarantees of sustainable information processing in the era of Big Data".
Dr Magdalena Łągiewska joined an international research team at the University of Oxford
Dr Magdalena Łągiewska from the Department of Public International Law has been invited to join the international research project “China, Law and Development” at the University of Oxford as a Research Associate. The CLD project is funded by the European Research Council and involves interdisciplinary and multi-sited research.
Prof. Wojciech Zalewski elected to the Board of Governors of the International Association of Law Schools
We are pleased to announce that the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration, Prof. Wojciech Zalewski, Sc.D. joined on January 1st the Board of Governors of the International Association of Law Schools (IALS). The members of the IALS Board of Governors are elected in a multi-stage procedure by representatives of the law schools associated in the organisation from all over the world. Candidates are proposed by the Nominating Committee. It is an unique distinction for both the person and the law school she/he represents.
