Our Guest will give an online lecture on: „Navigating the Intersection of AI Innovation and Copyright Law” on Wednesday, April 24, 2024; 9:15 – 11:15 CET

 

In the rapidly evolving digital landscape, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a prolific creator, challenging the traditional boundaries of copyright law. As AI technologies like generative models become more prevalent, they raise pressing questions about authorship and ownership of AI AI-generated works. This lecture will delve into the heart of these issues, exploring the implications of AI s creative capabilities on existing copyright frameworks. We ll examine key cases and debates that shape our understanding of AI as a creator, and discuss

the legal complexities surrounding the use of AI in generating content that blurs the line between human and machine creativity.

Prof. Ankit Shrivastava  Symbiosis Law School, IndiaAnkit Shrivastava, presently an Assistant Professor and Convener of the Moot Court Society at Symbiosis  Law  School, N O I D A, is a legal scholar with a passion for unraveling the complexities of Copyright Law in the age of Artificial Intelligence. His academic journey includes an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Rights from The National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Hyderabad, and a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, where he specialized in IPR. Ankit is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at the National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi, focusing on the intricate dance between copyright regulations and AI.
His expertise extends to various legal domains, including Cyber Laws, Cryptocurrency, and Competition Law. Ankit has presented multiple papers at international and national conferences and boasts several publications in SCOPUS SCOPUS-indexed journals.
