Dr. Sangeeta Taak Dr. Sangeeta Taak is a Senior Assistant Professor of Law at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, India (Core Faculty (rgnul.ac.in). I have a teaching experience of 17 years. Dr. Sangeeta is a Research Fellow at Central Asian Legal Research (CALR), Tashkent State University of Law (TSUL), located in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from December 2023- September 2024. She has 35+ publications to her credit. She received various scholarships and Grants in the past.

She has participated in the One Month Summer Programme organized by the IIDH Strasbourg, France on International and Comparative Law of Human Rights, from July 4, 2011- July 29, 2011 in France She got diploma in the CIEDHU programme, which is a recognition for the human rights teaching at academic level.  The International Committee of the Red Cross sponsored it.

She has also participated in the Five Day Training Programme for the Professors in International Humanitarian Law, organized by the Geneva Academy of International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law in collaboration with the International Committee of, Geneva in Geneva from 23 -27 August, 2010.

Her area of interest is Human Rights, IHL, Refugee Law, International humanitarian law, International Criminal law.

 

TITLE OF THE LECTURE:
International Criminal Law: Jurisdiction and Contemporary Challenges of International Criminal Court

The Course shall focus on the importance of International criminal law (ICL) in the present era. The student shall learn the intricacies of the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court (ICC). The student shall also learn about the situations which may be taken up by the ICC under its jurisdiction. The student shall also be able to understand the difference between the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court. The relevance of Individual Criminal Liability shall be explained with the cases decided under the ICC.  In addition to it, the future challenges of ICC shall also be explained in detail.
