Prof. Sidharth Chauhan

We are pleased to invite for a Guest Lectures by Prof. Sidharth Chauhan from Jindal Global Law School, India

Our Guest will give an online lecture on: „Competition Law in EU and India” on Monday, April 15, 2024; 7:15 – 9:00 CET

Competition Law in EU and India
Competition Law is designed to maintain and promote fair and healthy competition between firms in the market. The Indian competition law regime is in its nascent stage. In 2019, India completed a decade of enforcement of the Competition Act, 2002. India derives much of its competition law jurisprudence from the EU regime. With this background in mind, the competition law framework for the EU and India will be discussed.
The focus of the lecture will also be on contemporary issues, such as challenges to competition law due to digitalization. A case study will be used to highlight the differences between the approaches adopted by the competition law regimes of India and the EU. In the process, an attempt to draw parallels vis-à-vis the global developments in relation to the regulation of Big Tech (with an emphasis on the EU) will be made.

All members and friends of our Faculty community are very welcome to attend!
