It delves into the complexities of jurisdiction, sovereignty and resource management, highlighting how these factors influence maritime policies and international relations. By examining case studies and historical precedents, this topic seeks to illuminate the interplay between legal principles, geopolitical interests, and economic imperatives in the maritime domain, providing insights into contemporary challenges and opportunities facing nations and stakeholders worldwide.

Sofia KausarSofia Kausar has a Ph.D in international law. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies in India. She passionately imparts her knowledge and expertise to the next generation of legal professionals. Complementing her role at UPES, Sofia also serves as Guest faculty at King’s Business School in UAE, where she brings her unique insights to the intersection of law and business.
Throughout her academic journey, Sofia has held esteemed positions as Assistant Professor at various institutions in India and foreign, further enriching her understanding of legal systems and cultures. Her commitment to advancing scholarship is reflected in her numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and participation in both national and international conferences, solidifying her reputation as a respected authority in international law. Her research interests span a wide variety of legal domain, including the international law of the sea, criminal law and Muslim law.
