Prof. Kamil Zeidler elected the President of the Polish Section of IVR. Scientists from the Faculty joined the Board.

wpiaWe are pleased to announce, that Prof. Kamil Zeidler, chair of Department of Theory and Philosophy of the State and Law at the University of Gdańsk, was elected the President of the Polish Section of the International Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy (IVR). The Association held its bi-annual General Meeting during the Theory and Philosophy of Law Congress in Katowice, organised by University of Silesia.

The University of Gdańsk scholars newly elected as Board members include prof. Tomasz Widłak (Vice-President), prof. Jerzy Zajadło, prof. Paweł Sut and dr Magdalena Glanc-Żabiełowicz. Other universities are being represented by: prof. Tomasz Barankiewicz (The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin), prof. Tomasz Gizbert-Studnicki (Jagiellonioan University), prof. Przemysław Kaczmarek (University of Wroclaw), prof. Bartosz Liżewski (The Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin), prof. Martyna Łaszewska-Hellriegel (University of Zielona Góra), prof. Tomasz Pietrzykowski (University of Silesia), prof. Marek Smolak (Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań), prof. Adam Zienkiewicz (University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn), prof. Marek Zirk-Zadowski (University of Łódź) and dr Paweł Skuczyński (University ow Warsaw).

The IVR (Internationale Vereinigung für Rechts- und Wirtschaftsphilosophie) was established in 1909 and today it is the most prominent international association of scholars within the field of theory and philosophy of law. The Association’s global reach is effected through its national sections.
