About the Speaker:

Guest Lecture by Dr Vittorio Indovina (University of West Indies, Barbados)After graduating in law from Milan, Italy, Dr. Vittorio Indovina worked as a trainee lawyer for a short period before developing a keen interest in and passion for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
This interest led him to gain experience in diverse roles within the ADR practice. He served as a mediator for the Italian Chamber of Commerce, where he helped resolve a multitude of legal disputes across various subject matters. His role further developed to include working as a facilitator for a major Italian company dealing with participatory processes for social, environmental, and economic impact assessments concerning large-scale multibillion-euro projects and the local Italian communities.
He holds a Ph.D. in International Conflict Management which received from Kennesaw State University, and an LLM in Dispute Resolution which received from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He obtained an LLM in Corporate Tax and Finance Law from the University of Bergamo,  and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Milano-Bicocca.
Since 2024, he has been a Lecturer in Law at the University of the West Indies, where he teaches various courses, including ADR and Mediation. Currently, he offers his dispute resolution skills to Amnesty International's Italian Chapter as their organizational ombudsperson.
