Join us for a lecture titled “Regulation and Governance of Artificial Intelligence in the Banking Sector: Ethical, Legal, and Cybersecurity Challenges.” The session will explore how AI is reshaping banking compliance and risk management, examine core ethical and legal dilemmas (transparency, bias, accountability), and discuss cybersecurity threats and regulatory responses affecting financial institutions and consumers.

About the Speaker
Amirjon Mardonov is a Lecturer at the Cyberlaw Department of Tashkent State University of Law. His academic and professional work sits at the intersection of law and technology, particularly cyberlaw, legal innovation, and digital rights.
He earned his LL.M. (with honors) in Advanced Legal Research from the University of Illinois College of Law, focusing on International Public Law and Intellectual Property Law. He previously completed a B.S. in International Law and Comparative Legislation at Tashkent State University of Law, where he was recognized on the Rector’s list for academic excellence.
As an active contributor to legal education, Mr. Maronov has coordinated and lectured on numerous initiatives, including an Erasmus+ Jean Monnet module and specialized trainings on “Enhancing Legal Education with AI Tools.” He founded and led the university’s moot court simulation project, represented Uzbekistan at international events, and competed in global legal competitions such as the Philip C. Jessup Moot.
His professional background includes legal research, judicial clerking, and paralegal work at Kinstellar International Law Firm. A government scholarship holder of the “El-yurt umidi” Foundation, he is fluent in five languages, enabling effective work across multilingual legal settings.
As a scholar and practitioner, Mr. Mardonov continues to advance the modernization of legal education in Uzbekistan, focusing on the integration of AI tools and the legal regulation of digital technologies. His current interests include the governance of AI in finance, ethical frameworks for emerging technologies, and cybersecurity compliance.
