Author of a book on Private International Law (published through the University of Leiden) and author or co-author of over 31 contributions published internationally with themes on International Trade Law and International Commercial Law (ranging from book chapters to journal articles). His contributions have been referred to extensively in the standard text on International Law in the Roman-Dutch jurisdictions as well as in prominent books published in Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. He was also cited and relied upon in a recent full-bench decision of the High Court of Swaziland (eSwatini). Confirmed as a C2 rated researcher by the South African National Research Foundation (NRF). Deputy Director of the Research Centre for Private International Law in Emerging Countries (University of Johannesburg) since 2014. Elected, through the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO), as the South African Governing Council Member to the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) for the period 2019-2023. In April 2021, he was appointed as Member of the Hague Conference on Private International Law's Working Group on matters related to Jurisdiction in Transnational Civil or Commercial Litigation.
