We are pleased to announce that Prof. Nicholas J. Mazik (Associate Professor in the International and Business Law Department at the American University of Central Asia – AUCA) will visit Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Gdansk.

Prof. Nicholas Mazik has been a fully licensed attorney in the United States since 2005, and has lived in Central Asia for more than five years. He specialized in courtroom advocacy in the areas of criminal justice, fair trial rights and fundamental freedoms as both a state prosecutor and as a defense advocate in Texas. In addition to practical legal experience, Prof. Mazik has developed specialized knowledge in the areas of human rights and the rule of law while teaching in the International and Business Law Department of the American University of Central Asia in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
Prof. Nicholas Mazik previously worked as the Country Director of the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and worked with a partner university and the local bar association on reforms of legal education and the rights of the accused. As the current Rule of Law Officer for the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, Prof. Mazik manages a diverse team that is engaged in criminal justice, legal reform and torture prevention efforts at the national and regional levels.
The program of the professor's visit includes also a meeting with the Dean of the Faculty, Assoc. Prof. Wojciech Zalewski.
