Guest Lecture by Assist. Prof. Prabhpreet Singh   (School of Law, CHRIST University, India)Mr. Prabhpreet Singh is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Law at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Pune Lavasa Campus. He boasts a rich academic and professional experience. He has a strong background in law, focusing on a wide range of legal topics, including constitutionalism, human rights, and digital law. Assist. Prof. Prabhpreet Singh has presented numerous papers at international and national conferences, showcasing his expertise in comparative law, environmental law, and the regulation of fake news. He has also authored several publications in various journals and books, contributing to the discourse on legal and ethical issues in the digital age. He has also served as a Project Manager in Erasmus+ Mobility for higher education students and staff and now coordinates the Centre for European Studies at Christ University Lavasa. Mr. Singh is a member of the International Alliance of Jurists and Economists, an Honorary Researcher of the International Federation of Neurolegal Sciences, and a former Board member of the European Association of Data Protection Professionals, Netherlands, from 2021-2023. His educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in progress, an LLM, and a B.A.LL.B. (Hons.), demonstrating a deep understanding of law and a dedication to legal scholarship.

The lecture on: "Fake News Regulations and Their Limitations: A Comparative Analysis of Cyprus and Singapore" will explore the regulatory frameworks established in Cyprus and Singapore to combat the spread of fake news, with a focus on their effectiveness, limitations, and the broader implications for freedom of expression and media freedom in both nations.
