🎯 Topic: “Right to Vote for Convicted Prisoners: A Comparative Study of India, Netherlands & Austria”

 

This lecture will explore the legal and constitutional frameworks governing the voting rights of convicted prisoners in different jurisdictions, with a comparative focus on India, the Netherlands, and Austria. The discussion will highlight key judicial precedents, policy considerations, and human rights perspectives on the topic.

Prabhpreet Singh

Mr. Prabhpreet Singh is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Law at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Pune Lavasa Campus. He boasts a rich academic and professional experience. He has a strong background in law, focusing on a wide range of legal topics, including constitutionalism, human rights, and digital law. Assist. Prof. Prabhpreet Singh has presented numerous papers at international and national conferences, showcasing his expertise in comparative law, environmental law, and the regulation of fake news. He has also authored several publications in various journals and books, contributing to the discourse on legal and ethical issues in the digital age. He has also served as a Project Manager in Erasmus+ Mobility for higher education students and staff and now coordinates the Centre for European Studies at Christ University Lavasa. Mr. Singh is a member of the International Alliance of Jurists and Economists, an Honorary Researcher of the International Federation of Neurolegal Sciences, and a former Board member of the European Association of Data Protection Professionals, Netherlands, from 2021-2023. His educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in progress, an LLM, and a B.A.LL.B. (Hons.), demonstrating a deep understanding of law and a dedication to legal scholarship.
