Prof. Svetlana Moroz serves as Dean of Adilet Law School at Caspian University and holds the title of Doctor of Law, Professor.
With 36 years of professional experience, she is a leading expert in civil and commercial law in Kazakhstan. Prof. Moroz serves as an expert on draft legislation and member of working groups on legislative development. She is a member of the Interdepartmental Commission on the Improvement of Civil Legislation and, since 2011, has served as Commissioner of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the International Centre for Dispute Resolution at the Economic Court of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Since February 2010, she has been a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Prof. Moroz is a member of the Kazakhstan Association of Petroleum Lawyers (KPLA) and serves as an arbitrator at multiple prestigious institutions, including the International Center for Settlement of Disputes with the Economic Court of the CIS countries, International Court of Arbitration "IUS," Kazakhstan International Arbitration, Arbitration Center of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken," and International Arbitration Court "IAC."
Her teaching portfolio includes Civil Law, Business Law, Investment Law, and related subjects. In 2005, she was awarded first place in the Ministry of Education and Science's national competition for "Best University Teacher."
In 2008, her book Investment Law (published in 2006) won the "Best University Book" award in the national competition organized by the Educational-Methodical Council on Law Specialties. Prof. Moroz has authored more than 150 publications, including monographs on investment and business law, textbooks on investment law, mining law, business law, consumer protection, and Kazakh civil law, as well as collections of regulatory legal acts, conference papers, and scholarly articles. She has supervised one doctoral dissertation, five candidate dissertations, and four PhD dissertations.
