Ms. Alisha Mehta is a dispute resolution professional with significant experience in litigation and arbitration. She began her career as an Associate at Wadia Ghandy & Co., working in the firm’s Dispute Resolution teams in Bombay and Ahmedabad. She has advised and acted in complex commercial matters for leading clients including Deloitte, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Honda Cars India Limited, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Private Limited, and Piramal Finance Limited, among others.
Her practice has encompassed large-scale infrastructure arbitrations, high-value real estate disputes, insolvency and bankruptcy proceedings, and writ petitions, and she has appeared before various courts and tribunals in Gujarat and Maharashtra. Ms. Mehta combines courtroom advocacy with strategic advisory work, drawing on a strong command of substantive and procedural law to craft effective case strategies.
After four years of practice, she pursued an LL.M. in Business Law at the University of Toronto on a full merit-based scholarship, focusing on International Commercial and Investor-State Arbitration, Commercial Litigation, Bankruptcy and Insolvency, Private International Law, and international business and finance transactions. During her LL.M., she served as a Teaching Assistant at Toronto Metropolitan University for the course ‘Legal Analysis in a Business Context’, which used a Canadian competition law framework to train students in legal reasoning. She subsequently joined the litigation team at Lerners LLP, one of Toronto’s leading law firms, as a summer student, gaining valuable transnational exposure.
Ms. Mehta brings together robust domestic practice experience and international academic distinction, equipping her to address contemporary legal challenges with rigor and strategic insight.
