Assoc. Prof. Maciej Nyka, Chair of Economic Law and Environmental Protection at our Faculty, at the invitation of Prof. Jason Czarnezki visited Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University to take part in Pace Haub Environmental Law Program as a 2024-25 Haub Visiting Scholar.
Visiting Fellows from Caspian University (Kazakhstan)
We are delighted to announce that two guests from our partner institution, Caspian University in Kazakhstan, Prof. Svetlana Moroz and Prof. Saida Akimbekova spent the summer of 2024 as visiting fellows at our Faculty.
During their stay, Professors Moroz and Akimbekova engaged in collaborative research, participated in faculty seminars and consultations. Their insights and expertise enriched our Faculty community, fostering deeper academic ties between our Universities.

We are glad to inform about a new book devoted to the theory and philosophy of law, entitled “Aesthetics of Law: From Methodology to Manifestations”.
The editors of the book are: Prof. Kamil Zeidler (Head of the Department of Theory and Philosophy of State and Law) and Dr. Joanna Kamień (Head of the University of Gdańsk Publishing House).
Lecture by Prof. Alvaro Bedoya, US Federal Trade Commissioner
Last Tuesday we had a pleasure to host a special guest - Prof. Alvaro Bedoya from Georgetown University, Head of Georgetown Law's Center on Privacy & Technology - currently holding the office of US Federal Trade Commissioner.
As part of the doctoral seminar of the Department of Economic Law and Environmental Protection (led by Prof. Maciej Nyka), Professor Bedoya gave an inspiring lecture.
REPORT: Polish-Swiss Forum on Private Law
On 26 March 2024, a nationwide academic conference "Polish-Swiss Forum on Private Law" was held, organised by the Department of Civil Law of the Faculty of Civil Law of the University of Gdańsk in cooperation with the European Law Institute - Polish Hub. The event was held under the patronage of the Rector of the University of Gdansk and the Swiss Ambassador to Poland.

[8.11.2023] We are pleased to inform about the visit to our Faculty of Dr. Fiammetta Cioè of Sapienza University in Rome (Italy). Dr. Cioè is a member of the Italian branch of the Association for Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy.
As part of the meeting of the Department of Theory and Philosophy of State and Law and the Philosophy of Law Students' Club, we listened to a guest lecture by Dr. Cioè on "Legalism versus justice in the era of digital revolution".
