In this connection, we invite you to open lectures by experts in family law, Doktor Jane Rachel Muthoni Wathuta.

Dr. Jane Wathuta has a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from the University of Nairobi and is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. A Master’s Degree holder in Marriage and Family from the University of Navarre (Pamplona, Spain) and a Research PhD in Bioethics from the Biomedical University of Rome in Italy. A former postdoctoral research fellow at the School of Law, University of Witwatersrand in South Africa and later a visiting research fellow at the same School. Trained in research ethics, ethics education and human rights at various institutions in Africa and Europe. Holds a diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language (Level C2) from the Instituto Cervantes
Jane serves in the National Bioethics Committee (NBC) (renamed National Scientific & Ethics Committee) under the National Commission for Science Technology & Innovation (NACOSTI – Kenya). A member of the Bioethics Society of Kenya, the Law Society of Kenya, and the co-founder and chairperson of Women in Academia (WiA.ke). An active trainer in women development programs under the auspices of Kianda Foundation Educational Trust.
Currently the Academic Director at Strathmore Law School and Director of the Strathmore University Institute for Family Studies and Ethics. A lecturer and researcher, co-trainer in research ethics, supervisor and examiner, and, student mentor at Strathmore. Visiting faculty in the South African Research Ethics Training Initiative (SARETI) based at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Author in several journal articles, book chapters and technical reports, and presenter in a number of local and international conferences and workshops. An invited peer reviewer for various academic journals and currently a guest editor for a special issue with Frontiers Public Health.
