Indonesia - dynamic development of international cooperation with the support of Polish Diplomacy
From February 27 to March 3, a Faculty delegation led by the Vice-Dean for International Cooperation and Development, accompanied by lecturers from the Department of Financial Law, visited the Faculty of Law at Airlangga University in Surabaya, Indonesia, as part of the European Union Erasmus+ KA171 academic mobility program.
The very intensive agenda of the visit included a number of lectures to undergraduate, master's and doctoral students, discussions on cooperation in the development of joint degree programs, talks on cooperation between the editors of the two faculties' academic journals, a meeting with the students from the debating society, a meeting at the promotion department and the international cooperation office, as well as discussions with university authorities on other forms of developing cooperation.
The trip included a short visit to Jakarta, the national capital, especially to pay a visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Poland. To the very pleasant surprise of our representatives, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of Indonesia herself, Mrs. Beata Stoczynska, found time to meet with them. During the conversation, the head of the Polish diplomatic mission was presented with the offer of our Faculty and University, and received a lot of valuable information on the characteristics of the Indonesian educational market and the cultural specifics of this interesting country.
We are pleased to announce that we can already record the first successes of the mission:
- there are already 4 students from Indonesia who came to study at our Faculty this semester (paid programs). We hope to welcome even more students during the next semesters;
- thanks to the kindness and contacts established with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Indonesia, the educational offer of our Faculty was presented at the prestigious IALF Global International Education Fair in Jakarta on May 6, 2023.
We would like to thank the authorities and staff of the Airlangga University for their hospitality for our representatives. We are very grateful to Polish Diplomacy for their support during the visit and afterwards.
