Wykład otwarty prof. Rodrigo Cortina CortesRodrigo Cortina Cortes - studied history at the prestigious Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. For the past 20 years, as an informal spiritual leader, he has been involved in working with local communities from marginalized parts of the country (Tepito, Tacubaya, Iztapalapa, Queretaro, Hidalgo, Oaxaca, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Zacatecas, Durango and Sinaloa), thanks to which he has observed the lifestyle of people involved in criminal activity. His unique perspective as both a practitioner and a researcher has allowed him to penetrate the environment of Mexican drug, arms and human trafficking. Since 2015, he has been collaborating with Prof. Piotr Chomczyński in his research on organized crime in Mexico. Rodrigo Cortina Cortes specializes in organized crime, including drug crime, drug markets and fieldwork methods. He is a co-author (with Piotr Chomczyński) of publications in the most prestigious scientific journals in Criminology (e.g. Journal of Contemporary Ethnography, Global Crime). Currently, together with Prof. Chomczyński, he is involved in work in an international research team that focuses on the analysis of the biographies of criminals in Latin America.
