Prof. Ewa Bagińska elected Vice President of the International Academy of Comparative Law
We are pleased to announce that on October 27, 2022, during the Congress of Comparative Law in Asunción (Paraguay), prof. Ewa Bagińska (Head of the Department of Civil Law) was elected Vice President of the International Academy of Comparative Law - IACL (International Academy of Comparative Law).
The International Academy of Comparative Law (IACL) is the world's largest organization of lawyers, operating for almost 100 years. It was founded on September 13, 1924 as an association based in The Hague, a city that is also home to the Permanent International Court of Justice and the Academy of International Law.
From the beginning of its existence, IACL brings together lawyers from all branches of law from around the world, and its primary role is to conduct and disseminate comparative scientific research of global legal systems. Currently, the Academy has about a thousand members: scientists and institutions from all over the world. International IACL congresses are held every 4 years, starting from 1932. Thematic congresses are also organized in the so-called inter-congress period.
The IACL plays a key role in the development of the comparative law sub-discipline, contributing to the indication of directions for the reform of legal systems and the development of legal education.
On the board of the IACL, Prof. Ewa Bagińska represents not only the science of private law, but also the region of Central and Eastern Europe.
Congratulations!
