Prestigious Fulbright Junior Research Award Granted to Kinga Konieczna

Kinga Konieczna Fulbright

We are proud to announce that Ms Kinga Konieczna, M.A., from the Department of Civil Law, Section of Private International Law, has been awarded the prestigious Fulbright Junior Research Award for 2025–2026.

As part of this highly competitive and internationally renowned scholarship, Ms Konieczna will spend seven months at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., United States, where she will conduct research for her doctoral dissertation during the upcoming academic year.

The Fulbright Program is the flagship international academic exchange initiative of the U.S. government and is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious scholarship programs in the world. Established in 1946 by U.S. Senator J. William Fulbright, the program has, for over 70 years, promoted academic excellence, cultural understanding, and international collaboration between the United States and more than 160 partner countries. Each year, the program enables scholars, researchers, and professionals from Poland to carry out independent research projects at leading institutions in the U.S.

In the most recent competition, 54 PhD candidates applied for the Junior Research Award. Following a rigorous selection process—including expert evaluations by three independent reviewers and interviews with the highest-rated applicants—the Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission awarded only 7 scholarships in the Junior Research Award category and 1 in the Fulbright Research Award at Stanford University School of Medicine.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Ms Kinga Konieczna on this remarkable achievement and wish her continued success in her academic journey.
