International Seminar on Financial Law entitled "The Financial Law towards Challenges of the XXI century"
On December 8th, 2020, at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk, albeit in remote form, took place the International Seminar on Financial Law entitled “The Financial Law towards Challenges of the XXI century”. Under the auspices of the Financial Law Review quarterly it was organised by the members of the Faculty of Financial Law of the University of Gdańsk in cooperation with the Centre for Local Government Law and Local Finance Law of the University of Gdańsk. The seminar was conducted thanks to a grant awarded by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, granted to the Financial Law Review as part of the "Support for scientific journals" programme.
The seminar was one of the forms in which the mission of the Financial Law Review journal is carried out. Its main aim is the creation of an international forum for exchange of views and to enable discussion concerning the results of scientific research in the area of financial law in its broadest sense, which will ultimately contribute to a more efficient transfer of scientific knowledge into the sphere of practice and legislation.
The proceedings were divided into two panels, which began at 9:00 and 12:00, respectively. Panel one was moderated by Anna Jurkowska-Zeidler, PhD, prof. UG (University of Gdańsk), prof. Alexey Paul (Voronezh State University) and Przemysław Panfil, PhD (University of Gdańsk). The second panel was moderated by prof. Michał Radvan (Masaryk University), Tomasz Sowiński, PhD (University of Gdańsk) and Damian Cyman, PhD (University of Gdańsk).
Representatives of the world of financial law dogmatics and practice from the following domestic and foreign scientific centres took part in the session: from the Czech Republic – Masaryk University (Brno); from the Russian Federation – Kutafin State Law University (Moscow), Volgograd Institute of Management – branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (Volgograd), National Research University Higher School of Economics (Moscow), Russian State University of Justice (Moscow), Southern Federal University (Rostov-on-Don), The Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of Russia (Moscow), The Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (Moscow), Omsk State University (Omsk), Voronezh State University (Voronezh); from Poland – University of Gdańsk (Gdańsk), Gdańsk School of Banking [WSB] (Gdańsk), Higher School of Administration and Business [WSAiB] (Gdynia).
