During the World Conference on 28th -29th June 2021, organized by the Labour Law Research Network (LLRN) which gathers 79 labour law research institutions from all over the world, Assoc. Prof. Monika Tomaszewska, D.Sc. (Department of Labor Law) will present the results of nearly two-years of scientific research relating to the phenomenon of the working-poor. The Professor's presentation will be held as part of the scientific panel presenting results of the scientific project WorkYP-H-2020 focused on the increasing phenomenon of in-work poverty in Europe. The project, a Horizon 2020 whose acronym is WorkYP, is composed of a Consortium of 11 partners: 8 European Universities (Luxembourg, Bologna, Goethe University of Frankfurt, KULeuven, Tilburg, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Gdansk and Lund) and 3 social rights Institutions (OSE, EAPN and Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini).
During LLRN Conference will discuss the role of labour law in connection to in-work poverty, which has become an important issue affecting economic stability, social cohesion and the very concept of EU citizenship. By presenting and discussing the Project’s preliminary results, members of consortium WorkYP hope to offer a valuable contribution to the topic and trigger discussion on the global impoverishment of those who work in a-typical forms of work.
